Experimental Prints
These prints were all made during my brief studio rental at Slaughterhaus print studio in South London.
The plates are all made using thin plastic / plexi. The differences in tone were created by running the plates through the press with various grades of sandpaper to create an embossed texture, as well as by adding different types of tape to the surface. They are then inked and wiped as per an itaglio plate.
I was introduced to these techniques by Michelle Avison, one of the founders of Slaughterhaus.
